the calendar. Some are national holidays, created by acts of
Congress in the United States, or by the parliaments or rulers
of other countries. Some are religious holidays, described in the
holy writings of different religions. Some are based on local customs.
Some are started by advertisers attempting to sell cards or other goods.
Some of them are just plain silly. If you want to know if there
