Jeremy's Muffler--Assembly
Jeremy’s loving but forgetful Aunt Alice knits him an impossibly long muffler which causes many problems, but also provides Jeremy with an opportunity to be a hero.
This assembly follows the story from a wisp of an idea to a finished book, using rough drafts, letters, and the book dummy. I read the book wearing a muffler of my own. The session ends with
questions and answers about books and writing.
The assembly is suitable for grades K-3. It can be done with mixed grades, up to 200 students, but is more successful with a somewhat smaller group. The presentation runs about 40 minutes,
followed by a Q & A session of 5-15 minutes, depending on the students’ age.
